“2020 was a huge improvement from 2019, and we really came on strong with the engineering changes that we made,” explained Miller, who claimed podium results throughout the season. “The goal of moving to the Indy Pro 2000 ranks in 2021 was always on the table and after two years in USF2000, the time is right. The 2021 grid is set to be the most competitive Indy Pro 2000 Championship grid to date, and I can’t wait to get the season started.”

“Right now, we will be a two-car program with Kent Vaccaro in USF2000 and Jack in Indy Pro,” explained Jack Miller, who co-owns Miller Vinatieri Motorsports with NFL Field Goal Kicker and four-time Super Bowl Champion Adam Vinatieri. “We are looking forward to launching our winter test program and a successful 2021 season.”

Already acquiring a Tatuus PM-18, Miller will join already announced teammate and Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship driver Kent Vaccaro in a full season effort.

“Great event for the team and solid results for both Jack and Max,” expressed Team Co-Owner Jack Miller. “We are pretty happy with everything but also a little disappointed as I and the rest of the team believe a race win was in the cards in both race one and three. Either way, what a turn around the entire team has had as we are finally hitting our stride courtesy of the experienced and knowledgeable staff that we have brought into the program.”

Showing that his third-place podium result at Lucas Oil Raceway was no fluke, Jack William Miller qualified fourth for round seven on Thursday and quickly moved to second in the opening lap. With speed on his side, luck would not be as a part failure in the mounting bracket to the front wing caused the wing to drop down and eventually under the front wheels forcing Jack to retire. Disappointed but unfazed, Miller returned on Friday to qualify third for round eight and drove to his second podium result of the year with a P3 effort after falling back to fourth on the start.

Round nine saw Miller start inside row two before moving to the second position in the drag race to the first corner. Stalking the leader for two laps, Miller made his move to the point on lap three making an outside move around the first corner and having position for corner two. Drawing away from the field and opening a gap, Miller came under attack late in the race. Battling to defend his position on the final lap, Miller locked up his front wheel in the braking zone for the first corner and was forced to take evasive action to avoid contact reentering the track and eventually was classified in the fourth position.

“It is amazing to see Jack’s progress and how he was able to compete this past weekend,” explained Team Co-Owner Adam Vinatieri. “Jack has a bright future and we look forward to watching him compete at Indianapolis for years to come.”

Colorado native and USF2000 rookie Max Kaeser had his three best finishes of 2020 as all three wheel-to-wheel races yielded top-ten results for the MVM driver. Moving forward from fifteenth to tenth in race one, Kaeser added his second tenth place result of the weekend in round eight moving forward from twelfth. Round nine saw Kaeser score his best result of the season in a spirited drive forward. Starting outside row eight, Max had an intense battle with three other drivers as he pushed his way forward inside the top-ten. Battling hard in a scrappy fight with drivers more experienced than him, Kaeser climbed two more positions up the results sheet to end his weekend on a high in P8.

“This is big. It’s big for me and it’s big for the team. Everyone is here – my family, my sponsors. They’re all from Indy, so this means so much. But if you’d told me I would be on the podium back on Lap 50, I’d have said no way,” explained Jack Miller. “I got shuffled back at the start on the inside, and it was miserable early. But I caught up in lapped traffic late in the race and made a move when the guys in front of me got congested. I’m starting to make up for the early DNFs this season, so we’re still in it.”

Falling from third to sixth on the start, Miller quickly gained one position and settled into the fifth position. Biding his time, saving tires and working to have the best car in the latter half of the race, Miller paced with the lead group before looking to advance forward just past the halfway mark. As the lead group, including the #40 Patterson Dental machine, began to enter lapped traffic, Miller aimed to take advantage of the situation.

“I was able to get some good runs off the exits of turns two and four and get a wheel inside,” added Miller. “This place is hard to pass at, but we had the best setup for the late stages of the race and it really helped. My spotter Mike Maurini helped me take advantage of lapped cars and those were the two differences that helped me to the podium.”

Miller Vinatieri Motorsports driver Max Kaeser claimed a top-fifteen result in his first career oval race. Battling all race long with several competitors, Kaeser drove a smart race to keep his car and finish all seventy-five green flag laps.

With two weeks off, Miller Vinatieri Motorsports will not have to wait long for another Indiana event. Taking place September 3-4, Miller and Kaeser will battle on the 14-turn Indianapolis Grand Prix circuit at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

After experiencing some electrical issues that hindered results in race one and being caught up in a racing incident in the second wheel-to-wheel race of the two-day event, Miller was primed and focused to deliver a good result in race three. Starting in the ninth position, Jack was able to work his way forward and get the much-needed result for not only himself, but Miller Vinatieri Motorsports as a whole.

“Race one and two did not go as planned, but I knew that we had the speed to compete,” explained Jack William. “The team did a great job to diagnose, find and fix our electrical issue, and I thought we were going to have a good result in race two. Unfortunately, my front wing was damaged in an incident and ruined a chance to drive forward.”

Back on track for race three on Thursday afternoon, Miller drove like a seasoned veteran methodically working his way forward to the fifth position. Trailing the lead quartet by just over a second all while holding a former race winner at bay behind him, Miller was cool and collected to claim his first career top-five result.

Miller added, “I have been training a lot more getting ready for a triathlon and making sure I am mentally prepared, so I feel that this is a major hurdle that we have overcome. Additionally, we have gone in a different engineering direction, and it has paid off immensely as the car suits my driving style a lot more. This was a great way to close the weekend with three more races here next week.”

With COVID-19 induced schedule, Miller Vinatieri Motorsports will return to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this coming weekend for rounds six through eight on the 2020 season.

“We are very pleased to have Eduardo join the MVM family,” notes team owner and three-time Indianapolis 500 starter Jack Miller. “Eduardo is son of former Formula 1 star Rubens Barrichello, and their family bond is unmistakable. It rings true having my son as a second generation driver, so I am confident Eduardo and the whole Barrichello family will fit perfectly into our operation. We will be running our first season in the USF2000 ranks, but we have put together an excellent and experienced crew and engineer, making a great platform for Eduardo as he begins his march up the Road to Indy ladder.”

Eduardo will enter 2019 on the heels of his first full season in open-wheel racing. Competing in the US F4 division as a rookie in 2018, the Orlando, Florida resident had a strong first season in cars and looks for more in 2019. A star in the karting ranks as well, the young Barrichello secured numerous high-profile victories in his six-year kart career before turning his focus to car racing.

“I am excited to join Miller Vinatieri Motorsports and the USF2000 program in 2019,” explains the younger Barrichello. “The Road to Indy program is something that I have followed throughout karting, and to finally be able to take part in it is something special. The plan is to get lots of testing under my belt before the first race of the season, but I can tell you that I am already counting down the days to St. Pete.”

“I met Jack during the F4 season and we had an instant connection,” adds Rubens Barrichello, trackside at Sebring International Raceway where his son, Eduardo, is getting experience behind the wheel of the USF-17. “Jack has a love and passion for the sport, similar as I do, and combined that with the love for our kids, it made perfect sense. We are very excited to enter the USF2000 Series and Road to Indy program as it the perfect next step for Eduardo and his racing career.”

NFL all-time leading points scorer and current Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri also is excited to have Barrichello join the team.

“Not only am I big fan of Jack William, I have also been a fan of Rubens throughout his career,” explains Vinatieri. “I am hoping to get to a lot of races in the future and lend my hand in helping grow a successful program. Announced only a few weeks ago that Indianapolis, Indiana based Miller Vinatieri Motorsports (MVM) will compete in the 2019 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, the team has officially entered one driver for the upcoming Chris Griffis Test. Taking place at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the weekend of September 22-23, Jack William Miller will pilot the USF-17 car for the evolving MVM program.

“The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of those facilities that you dream about racing at and I am thankful to have the opportunity to test this year as well as look forward to the race there in 2019,” stated Jack William Miller. “My goal is to climb the motorsports ladder and compete in the Indianapolis 500, and the Road to Indy not only competes at several of the same tracks that the Verizon IndyCar Series does, it also provides amazing opportunities and possibilities.”

While Miller Vinatieri Motorsports is new to the USF2000 program, the open wheel race team is experienced and brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. With a solid crew that has years’ worth of experience in all forms of motorsports, a marketing and promotional team on site for each and every event as well as team sponsors in place, the team looks to hit the ground running during the Chris Griffis Test and onwards into a winter test program leading up to the 2019 season.

“We have a great crew and a solid engineer,” added three time Indianapolis 500 starter Jack Miller. “We were prepared to be on track with two drivers but a minor setback put us behind late last week. However, the second car will be on track at a planned test in Michigan later this month with a veteran driver. “We are prepared for our 2018 campaign,” explained Team Owner and three-time Indianapolis 500 starter Jack Miller. “We have tested all over the country including Florida, Texas, Michigan and Louisiana to prepare our drivers for the official start of the season at VIR.”

Dylan Tavella will start his first year in formula cars after capturing the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) X30 Junior Championship in 2017. Jack William Miller enters 2018 for his second year in the championship after running select events in 2017 due to age restrictions. Now able to compete at each and every facility, Miller is hoping that his experience will aid in his efforts for race wins and podium results.

Echoing his father’s comments, Jack William Miller added, “I am ready to get back into the car and compete for the title in the F4 program. We have a great team behind us and great partners that support us so we just need to get to work and be as consistent and fast as possible. The team has prepared both Dylan and I for the task at hand and I am excited to see how our opening weekend will go.”

Rookie Dylan Tavella went on to say, “I am excited for the 2018 season and my first event in a car of any type this weekend. We have had multiple test days and I am ready to get on the track with the other 36 drivers. Miller Vinatieri Motorsports and the team around me has helped me prepare as much as possible and now it is up to me to put it together on track and gain as much experience as possible while working towards the best results I possibly can. I am ready to go!”

With a promoter’s test day scheduled for Thursday, Miller and Tavella will get their first look at the VIR facility before official competition begins Friday. Qualifying will take place early Saturday morning before the first of three wheel-to-wheel races takes the green flag Saturday afternoon. Sunday will see rounds two and three of the series in the triple header weekend. Miller Vinatieri Motorsports (MVM) completed another test at the New Orleans Motorsports Park (NOLA) in New Orleans, Louisiana this past week with their two drivers, Dylan Tavella and Jack William Miller. With both former karters having a successful couple of days of testing, the duo is excited about the fast approaching F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda season. With a few more test days on the schedule, the first event of the 2018 season will take place at the Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in April.

“We had a very productive two days in warm weather,” explained Tim Neff, a multi-time race-winning engineer. “We were able to work on several chassis changes to better the handling and speed from our cars. Also, we made a few minor swaps to make the drivability of the car better without hurting lap times. At the end of the day, we checked off many of the boxes we wanted to with this week’s outing.”

Both Miller and Tavella adapted to a NOLA track layout and the characteristics of the surface with general ease. Decreasing lap times with each passing session, the duo completed multiple new tire runs and worked with engineer Tim Neff on changes to make them comfortable on both qualifying and race run setups.

“I was happy to get back on track and show speed at NOLA,” expressed Miller. “I feel we have had successful tests and am ready to start the season. A few more tests are planned but as a driver, I feel comfortable where I am compared to this time last year.”

The team completed a test in mid-December at the Homestead-Miami Speedway where both Miller and Tavella were able to get back in an F4 car and work with the MVM program.

“I had to figure out a new track, but after testing at Homestead, I felt I had the speed and confidence to get down to a decent time relatively quickly,” added Tavella. “I was able to adapt to the new track and after going through some video and data after the first day of running, I knew what I needed to work on to squeeze a little more time out of both myself and the car.”

The team is looking forward to the next official F4 Series Test, returning to NOLA Motorsports Park March 31-April 1. The series then kicks off with the season opener at Virginia International Raceway April 26-29.
